The Mokelumne Coast to Crest Trail Council (MCCTC) is a committee made up of board members, officers, trail segment representatives, and agency representatives. They meet on a regular basis to discuss implementing the trail segments, identify and evaluate potential trail alignments within the corridor, potential use, connections to population centers and mass transit facilities, public relations and education, links to public lands and community activity centers, cost of trail management and development, finance, user safety, sensitivity of any ecological, historical, or cultural sites and other related issues.

The mission of the MCCTC is to work together on a scenic corridor extending from the Pacific Ocean near San Francisco Bay to the Pacific Crest Trail in the Sierra Nevada Range. Users of the Mokelumne Cost to Crest Trail will experience diverse outdoor settings including the urban greenbelt along the San Francisco Bay, the protected open space & parkland of the East Bay, the rural landscape of the San Joaquin River Delta & Mother Lode Country, & the forested slopes along the Mokelumne River Canyon & High Sierra. Martinez Shoreline Regional Shoreline in western Contra Costa County & Ebbetts Pass in the High Sierra are the proposed anchor points.
