Mokelumne Coast to Crest Trail

- California Trail Days -

On April 26th, as part of California Trail Days, rangers will lead a hike along the newest stretch of trail. ACTIVITIES: We will carpool from Campo Seco Staging Area to a location near Penn Mine to minimize vehicle usage. From the Campo Seco Staging Area we will hike west towards Camanche. When the last mile is completed, trail users will be able to go from Camanche South Shore Staging Area to the Campo Seco Staging Area and there will be 23 miles of contiguous MCCT on EBMUD lands! We will start our trek by hiking west to Vista Dos Lagos, then onto the Campo Seco BLM lands, next onto a portion of the Campo Seco Ditch and ending near Penn Mine. We will then carpool back to the Campo Seco Staging Area.  Marvel at the feats of the “hard rock gophers” (miners) in their search for gold, the stone retaining walls built by the Mokelumne Trailbuster Volunteers and the vistas from the trail!
